Hope you have been enjoying the beautiful inspiration Pinterest based projects!  I know I have!

While I do not have a green thumb, I absolutely LOVE flowers of all kinds!  This layout was based on these beautiful roses…paper, glitter dust, and zots style!

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg09

Here’s a closer look at the glitter dusted paper roses…and I’m loving our new Therm O Web Glitter Dust Photo Corners!

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg10

Here’s the supplies I used:

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg01

Therm O Web Supplies:

Zots – Small
Zots – Medium
Glitter Dust – Iridescent
Glitter Dust Photo Corners – Gold (COMING SOON!!)
Sticky Tape Runner

Other supplies:

Patterned paper – Crate Paper
Vellum – Ruby Rock-it Bella! Fundamentals
Flower punch – Marvy
Butterfly punch – Martha Stewart

Let’s create those paper roses!
Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg02

You will need 4 punches of the flowers.  You can use any 5 petal flower punch or diecut.

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg03

On a soft surface, like a stamping mat, or mousepad, take the tip of an embossing tool, and gently press into the center of petal.

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg04

Next, curl the edge of each petal over a small tool, or pencil.  Repeat with 3 petals.

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg06

For the 4th petal, once you have pressed in the center of the petal, simply roll up the petals to create the center of the rose.

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg11

Adhere each flower layer with Zots.  Spray lightly with Glitter Dust.

Pinterest.TOW.EYamabe.jpeg07

And voila!  I’ve also added one paper rose to this quick card:)

Thanks for stopping by and making Therm O Web part of your creative day!

Hop Along With our Spring Pillow Project

bunny close

This week is all about inspiration, and from one of our favorite places Pinterest.  Being that a pile of fabric strips were sitting at the end of the craft table, a quilted project seemed like a perfect way to go.  The search began and found a little inspiration though this photo.

9d9a474a79696662813b29af90ac8205(photo)

With strips of torn fabric, the basket weave effect came to be.  Once each strip was in place, using fusible fleece, the front woven panel was then ironed together and trimmed along each side.  The back panel of the pillow was then constructed from one solid piece of fabric and ironed on to fusible fleece as well.

000_0002

The bunny was cut from two piece of white fabric fused together using fusible web, light weight.  Found a bunny pattern on Pinterest here and cut out from fabric.  Added thread for the eye.  Used SpraynBond Fusible Adhesive Spray for the backside and ironed on to the pillow to keep in place as it was stitched to the pillow.  The pillow was then constructed, stuffed and completed with a stitched side and a pom-pom tail.

If you search Pinterest for altered composition books, there is tons of fabulous inspiration available. They make a nice, personalized and cheap gift!

rk tow nb6

Start with a plain composition book – many dollar stores carry them.

rk tow nb1

Using Therm O Web Super Stik, completely coat the cover of the book and the back side of patterned paper with adhesive. Coating the cover and the paper insures permanent sticking power.

rk tow nb2

Don’t cover the binding with patterned paper. Instead use some Therm O Web SuperTape Sheets and a wide ribbon or trim.

rk tow nb3

Cut strips of the Therm O Web SuperTape Sheets and completely cover the binding:

rk tow nb4

Peel off the red protective backing an apply ribbon and trim to fit. Once the cover and binding are done, decorate the cover with other embellishments. (Zots are perfect for adding buttons!)

rk tow nb 12

Next, to make tabbed pages, cover several pages with Therm O Web Memory Runner XL adhesive and cover with patterned paper here:

rk tow nb 9

and here:

rk tow nb 10

For a page with a seam, cover the seam with Sticky Lines:

rk tow nb5

and add a trim:

And there you have it, a very inexpensive but super cute gift inspired by Pinterest!

Pinterest Inspiration-Cathedral Window Card

2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 1rev

“Just a Note” CARD by Patti Milazzo

Therm O Web Supplies:
Therm O Web Mini Runner – Sticky Tape
Therm O Web Zots – 3D

Other supplies:DCWV Cherry Limeade Paper Stack
Mambi Black/White Pattern Papers
Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler Stamps
Black, White & Gray Cardstock
mini brads, flower punch

This beautifully quilted pillow was my PINspiration for the card above-

2 2013 Pinspiration- Cathedral Window Pillow

I really liked the cathedral window effect of this pillow and its striking color combination.  As you can see, I kept my note card much more simple and used layered and folded circles to get a similar effect without too much fuss.2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 2rev

1. Create a 5″x6″ card from cardstock and cut a 1″ wide strip to go across the front of the card.

2. Cut 9 circles from cardstock- 2″, 2.5″ and 3″: 2 gray and 1 black of each size.  Take 3 gray circles (each size) and mark the center points vertically and horizontally.  If available, use a grid ruled craft mat to find these points.  Then line up the marks and score to create a square within each circle.  Fold the edges of the circles as shown above.

3. Next, cut 3 pattern paper squares to fit inside each scored circle.  Use the Mini Tape Runner to adhere the circles inside.

4. Apply Mini Tape Runner Adhesive to the back of these scored circles and adhere them to the center of the other gray circles.

2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 3rev

5. Machine stitch around the layered circles so that the stitching just catches each folded corner.

6. Again use the Mini Tape Runner to adhere the black cardstock circles to the front of the card.  Then, apply 3D Zots to the back of each of the assembled gray circles and layer on top of the corresponding black circle.

7. Create a punched flower with brads and adhere this to the center of the medium circle also using 3D Zots.

2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 4rev

8. To complete the card, stamp a sentiment onto white cardstock, trim and apply more 3D Zots to the back to adhere just below the paper strip.

Pinterest Inspiration Week

There are so many great things to look at on Pinterest that I’ll often pop over there for “just a minute”, only to find out that half an hour has gone by. Here in Boston we have had our fill of winter. Between the blizzard two weekends ago and another storm this past weekend, it seems like maybe old Mr. Groundhog got it wrong after all. When I went to Pinterest in search of my inspiration for this project, I was looking for something to take my mind off of winter. Here is what I came up with:
Pinterest Inspired Pillow

Pinterest source and original source

and here is the project – a beach themed breakfast tray.

BeachTray1

Start with an unfinished wood tray from the craft store then sand, paint, and adhere a collage of patterned papers (SuperStik Glue Stick and a Sticky Tape Runner work well for this). Then dry brush white paint over the whole thing. What really sets this tray apart is the jute wrapped handles.

BeachTray2

Sticky Lines is the perfect adhesive for this – it works like hot glue only without the mess!

BeachTray3

Cut a piece of Sticky Lines adhesive to the length of the top edge of the handle, peel off one side of the liner,

BeachTray4

and adhere. Keep the top of the liner in place until you have attached the bottom piece.

BeachTray5

Cut another piece and adhere to the underside of the handle.

BeachTray6

Adhere one end of a length of jute to the bottom edge of the handle. Inexpensive garden twine works well for this.

BeachTray7

Start wrapping…

BeachTray8

it really doesn’t take too long, but go slowly so that there are no gaps in the jute.

BeachTray9

When you get to the end, you might need to add a small sliver of adhesive to the end of the jute to keep it in place. I also used fine tipped scissors to trim the fuzzy ends of the twine that were sticking out – this made the handle smoother and nicer to hold.

Sweet Valentine Treats for Teachers

Glitter Dust – Pink
Mini Sticky Tape Runner
ICraft Adhesive sheets
ICraft Adhesive Tape – 1/4 inch
Zots – 3D

Heart Diecut – Sizzix
Distress Star Dust Dry Fine Glitter – Ranger
Patterned paper – Crate Paper
Doily – Joanns
Lace, Pearl Trim – Scrapbook Island

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg8

To decorate the outside and top of the box, cut patterned paper to size of box.  Adhere with Sticky Lines around perimeter of the box.  Create paper bow, adhere with Mini Sticky Tape Runner and foam squares.  To create the glittered heart:  Adhere ICraft Adhesive sheet to cardboard.  Run through die cut machine [this is a Sizzix 4 heart die cut].  Peel off adhesive layer, sprinkle loose glitter and tap off.  Adhere heart to paper bow with 3D Zots.  Adhere bling with 1/2 3D zot.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg9

For the top of the box, spray doily with a light coat of Glitter Dust in pink.  I then layered and adhered the following with the Mini Sticky Strip runner: Doily to paper, heart to doily, and gift card holder to inside of heart.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg2

To create gift card holder, start with a 6 in by 6 in piece of paper.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg3

Fold in half on the diagonal.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg4

Score at the 2 7/8 inch mark, from both sides.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg5

Open up the paper, and fold new score marks over to meet in the middle.

TOW.February12.EYamabe.jpeg6

Fold in half, from the outside, so you create the pocket for the gift card.

Slide gift card into the Glitter Corners, adhere to patterned paper.  And voila!
