2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 1rev

“Just a Note” CARD by Patti Milazzo

Therm O Web Supplies:
Therm O Web Mini Runner – Sticky Tape
Therm O Web Zots – 3D

Other supplies:DCWV Cherry Limeade Paper Stack
Mambi Black/White Pattern Papers
Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler Stamps
Black, White & Gray Cardstock
mini brads, flower punch

This beautifully quilted pillow was my PINspiration for the card above-

2 2013 Pinspiration- Cathedral Window Pillow

I really liked the cathedral window effect of this pillow and its striking color combination.  As you can see, I kept my note card much more simple and used layered and folded circles to get a similar effect without too much fuss.2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 2rev

1. Create a 5″x6″ card from cardstock and cut a 1″ wide strip to go across the front of the card.

2. Cut 9 circles from cardstock- 2″, 2.5″ and 3″: 2 gray and 1 black of each size.  Take 3 gray circles (each size) and mark the center points vertically and horizontally.  If available, use a grid ruled craft mat to find these points.  Then line up the marks and score to create a square within each circle.  Fold the edges of the circles as shown above.

3. Next, cut 3 pattern paper squares to fit inside each scored circle.  Use the Mini Tape Runner to adhere the circles inside.

4. Apply Mini Tape Runner Adhesive to the back of these scored circles and adhere them to the center of the other gray circles.

2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 3rev

5. Machine stitch around the layered circles so that the stitching just catches each folded corner.

6. Again use the Mini Tape Runner to adhere the black cardstock circles to the front of the card.  Then, apply 3D Zots to the back of each of the assembled gray circles and layer on top of the corresponding black circle.

7. Create a punched flower with brads and adhere this to the center of the medium circle also using 3D Zots.

2 2013 Pinspiration CARD-Just a Note 4rev

8. To complete the card, stamp a sentiment onto white cardstock, trim and apply more 3D Zots to the back to adhere just below the paper strip.

Crafty Valentine Cupcake Garland

With the increasing popularity of all things cupcake, it’s no surprise that there is a huge variety of cupcake liners on the market. They are inexpensive and fun to collect, and not only work great for their original purpose, but are also fun to use in craft projects. Today Designer Alice Golden will be sharing an easy way to use iCraft adhesive dots and cupcake liners to create a Valentine themed window garland.

ValentineGarland1

To start, gather some cupcake liners in assorted sizes (alternatively, use one size and trim the edges with decorative scissors to create the various layers). ValentineGarland2 Slightly crumple the center of the liner to flatten. ValentineGarland3 ValentineGarland4 Use fishing line as the base of the garland and be sure to leave extra on either end. The garland is double-sided so that it will look good from any direction. Begin by creating a cupcake liner sandwich – place a liner face down and add an iCraft dot in the center. Run fishing line through the middle and top with another liner. ValentineGarland5 ValentineGarland6 The fun part is layering on additional embellishments. Add additional cupcake liners or die cut shapes, along with buttons, ribbon, and glitter. Use iCraft dots between the liners and Zots to attach heavier items.

ValentineGarland7

Die cut shapes from iCraft dots, add glitter, and use in the center of the medallions. Both the positive and negative images can be used. ValentineGarland8 Here the positive die cut is used on a cardstock circle… simply remove the protective liner from the front, ValentineGarland9 add glitter and brush off any excess.

ValentineGarland10

Here is what the negative image looks like applied directly to a liner.

ValentineGarland11

Try different size shapes and a variety of glitters. This one uses a small heart die and clear glitter.

ValentineGarland12

ValentineGarland13

The heart from the center of the die cut above was added to the top of a button and glittered then attached using Zots.

ValentineGarland14

Buttons not only look good, but they help add weight to the garland so that it hangs straight down.

ValentineGarland15

Once you get started with this, you won’t want to stop!

Shabby Chic Wedding Flowers and More with Therm O Web

000_0003_01

Flowers are perfect for any occasion, right?  Why not use your favorite papers and fabric with a variety of Therm O Web products to create something extra special that will last forever.

We begin with the paper flower.  To create these you will need wood skewers, your favorite papers, paint, circle die and Therm O Web (3d Zots, Memory Tape Runner XL, ICraft Dots and SuperTape,).

Begin by painting the skewers for the stems, I chose green to match the paper leaves cardstock.  Next die cut several large and medium circles from paper.  Wrap one ICraft Dot around the top of the skewer.  Add tape runner adhesive to one large circle (sides only) and wrap around skewer, over adhesive dot.  C

Continue to add layers, alternating sizes of circles.  Between circle layers add one 3D Zot to the center of the circle to allow space between layers/petals.

000_0004_01

Hand cut leaves by folding paper in half and cutting leaf shape.  Create a few for a bouquet.  Maybe fabric flowers are what you are looking to create.

Using the same skewers, a bouquet holder (found in your local craft shop) and a variety of fabrics/ribbons/lace trims you can get something like this…

000_0003_00

Used Peel N Stick fabric tape and Zots to assemble this shabby chic wedding bouquet.

Whatever your choice, it will be beautiful just because you made it yourself!
